Second day of the project. Someone once told me there is no problem that can't be solved by sacrificing a baby or two.

I went down to the ocean to photograph the lunar eclipse last night. It was slated to be one of the most spectacular moons in a decade or more. At moonrise the eclipse was in totality, which lead myself and everyone around to wonder why the moon had not risen when it was scheduled to do so. The fact was it had, but was as dark as the sky and therefore invisible, which was a pretty neat magic trick.
I think I ended up capturing a few okay shots, although nothing to rave about. The best was watching the moon with the naked eye emerge from the shadow and back into the most bright full moon in a matter of an hour or so.
I used both my Sony a6000 with the 16-50 f3.5-5.6 kit lens and well as my Canon T2i with a 70-200 f2.8L, both tripod mounted.
All day today the internet has been flooded with pictures this rare lunar event, Facebook even went down for 45 minutes or so today, although I don't know if that was related, but I like to think so. Did any of you get amazing images of this blood moon? Put a link in the comments below.

I went down to check out Campbell River's annual Art Fest. The city shuts down the main street and lets artist set up booths to flog their wares. It was inspiring and cool, as it always is, but this year it seemed to have a weird ominous feel to it. Here's a few photos that I think reflect the feeling pretty well. I used my Sony a6000 camera with Canon's 40mm f2.8 stm pancake lens adapted on.
