I've decided to take up a thirty day daily drawing challenge put on by the Comox Valley Arts Council. Although it is day 4 and I have been doing it every day so far, this is the first I've posted here. The theme for today's challenge is "Fictional fish in an aquarium". I don't promise to complete the entire thirty days ( I tried last year and managed to only make it to day 6 or something) but I am definitely out of practice with drawing, and feel I need this exercise sorely. I'll probably post a bunch of these along the way, so keep returning to visit and check out my progress.
If you'd like to see what other talented artists are doing you can check them out by using the hashtag #cva30ddc17 on various social media and I recommend you do. There have been some great and surprising submissions!

While not specifically a Hallowe'en photo, I would offer that the nature of the pictures qualifies. I purchased some really terrific art from Danielle Tunstall. Shown are a few of those framed and ready to hang, along with a few pieces of my own art.
So, for the nineteenth episode of this little project, I'm showing a snapshot of my living room as it is right now. I sure wish I had more space for art, but real estate on my walls is a precious commodity.
Check out Danielle's super cool art at www.danielletunstall.com or find her on social media everywhere. Her style is distinctive and eye catching.

I've partnered with a new web store for prints. I'd like to welcome you to Crated, a place to buy prints and framed art. Available on paper and canvas, these prints are as low as I can possibly sell them for a limited time.
Content will be expanding as I go, but by all means let me know if there is anything you would like to see and I'll do my best to add it.

I went down to check out Campbell River's annual Art Fest. The city shuts down the main street and lets artist set up booths to flog their wares. It was inspiring and cool, as it always is, but this year it seemed to have a weird ominous feel to it. Here's a few photos that I think reflect the feeling pretty well. I used my Sony a6000 camera with Canon's 40mm f2.8 stm pancake lens adapted on.
